About EssayDetector
Reviewed by the EssayDetector team · Last updated 2026-09-13 · Questions: [email protected]
EssayDetector reviews language patterns in a draft and returns a bounded score plus the sentences that raised the flag. It is a review aid, not a verdict about who wrote the text.
Who operates this site
MentalCraft LLC operates EssayDetector (https://essaydetector.org) and the companion revision product EssayHumanize (https://essayhumanize.com). Questions: [email protected].
How the review works
Each successful check runs a hosted model first and, if that output cannot be parsed, a deterministic fallback. The response always labels which method ran. Sentence cues name visible wording — formulaic transitions, stock phrases, repeated openings — not hidden model reasoning.
What we have seen in practice
A high score usually means uniform rhythm and generic transitions, not proof of cheating. A low score can still come from a generated draft that was rewritten by hand. Teachers who treat the number as a grade create false accusations; writers who chase a 0% score waste time the review was meant to save.
Limits
- 5 free successful checks per day on the website; Pro is $9/month for 100/day.
- 10–1,200 words per check.
- The HTTP API is paid keys only.
- Results are not proof of authorship and must not be used alone to grade, accuse, or discipline anyone.
- No bypass, undetectable, or 0% AI-score guarantee.
Affiliate recommendations
After the detector, some pages link to Amazon searches for writing handbooks and stationery. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Those links are not product reviews. See recommended writing tools.
Review standards for this site
- Every number we publish is checked against the live product, not a planning document. Free allowance, Pro price, and word limits are read from one source of truth.
- We publish the method label that actually ran. We never describe a fallback result as a model result.
- We do not publish testimonials, star ratings, or accuracy percentages we have not measured ourselves. Comparison pages describe publicly visible product differences, not measured accuracy.
- Pages carry the date they were last updated. When copy changes, that date changes with it.
- We state limits next to the claim, not in a separate disclaimer page.
Corrections
If a page overstates what the tool can do, tell us at [email protected] and we will correct the page rather than defend the wording. Corrections change the page's last-updated date.
